【於慶中／綜合外電報導】北半球正經歷罕見的酷寒冬天，南半球多處則正值炎夏。阿根廷西部門多薩省(Mendoza)最近遭受熱浪侵襲，當地動物園擔心園內北極熊難抵高溫，正準備為牠搬家。

門多薩省周三(8日)氣溫高達39°C，當地媒體報導，園內年老的北極熊Arturo受到連續高溫影響，精神萎靡不振。雖然園方已替牠加裝冷氣，並擴大籠內水池面積讓Arturo降溫，但牠健康情況仍越來越差。

Arturo是阿根廷唯一一隻人工飼養的北極熊，現已28歲，當地輿論要求政府應盡力搶救。其實去年10月，動物園就曾與門多薩省環境部門研究，計畫將Arturo移居到北半球居住，更曾邀請加拿大的專家到訪商議，但環境部動物專家擔心Arturo年老，不能支撐長途飛行，計劃一再拖延。

但隨著Arturo健康日差，當局已決定先評估牠的健康狀況及遷徙風險，再安排搬家大計。
