協奇老闆現身　指照王東清步驟製澱粉

《聯合報》載，毒澱粉事件最早被查出的中盤商台南市將軍區協奇澱粉廠，劉姓負責人(77歲)受訪時說，10年前1名離職員工介紹台南退休化學老師王東清(81歲)給他認識，他花10萬元請王東清傳授化製澱粉，他照步驟走未改過配方，僅因刺鼻味而將順丁烯二酸減量。他表示不知道順丁烯二酸有毒，也相信王東清無意害人。

對此，台南地檢署表示，毒澱粉事件爆發後，已指派1名檢察官協助衛生局調查，但因衛生署遲未定義毒澱粉是否涉及《刑法》第191條，讓檢方無法源依據，不能直接介入調查，目前以他字案調查，將再訪談協奇澱粉廠劉姓負責人、配方研製者王東清進行釐清。
