鄂霍次克海海域發生高大8.2級強烈大地震，俄羅斯當局發佈海嘯警告，但在短短十分鐘內解除對庫頁島(Sakhalin Islands) 和千島群島(Kurile Islands)的相關警報。

據路透社報導，俄羅斯最大的液化天然氣項目正位於庫頁島。

地震震央位置位於彼得羅巴甫洛夫斯克的西北偏西約380公里處。

雖然中央氣象局將地震設為強度8.2級，但俄羅斯當局卻設為6.7級。地震發生不久後，俄羅斯各地都感到震動，但不清楚是否於鄂霍次克海域的地震是否有關係。

當地目前並沒有傳出任何傷亡報導。
