Rainforest Connection：你的舊手機將有機會保衛森林

一個名為 Rainforest Connection 的非謀利組織有一個很好的想法，用來應對森林中的非法砍伐。他們將會於今個月在印尼試行一個以手機「保衛」當地森林，防止非法砍伐的計劃。在計劃的初期他們利用一些已經改裝成可透過太陽能充電的新 Android 手機（捐贈得來的）來擔當「千里耳」，這手機的麥克風將會 24 小時地開著，機上的軟體會監聽分析附近是否有不正常的聲音，例如電鋸的聲音；如有發現就會即時通知護林員前來救亡。他們進一步的計劃就是會利用回收得來的手機去擔當「千里耳」，而且希望在將來可以推出一款免費的程式，供全世界的用戶聆聽森林的聲音，幫忙監察。
