美國加州洛杉磯地區聖塔莫尼卡(Santa Monica)學院7日發生槍擊事件，目前已造成至少7人死亡，5人受傷。由於事發當時，總統歐巴馬正在數英里外出席募款餐會，因此引起國安單位關注。

根據美國國家廣播公司(ABC)報導，一名身穿黑衣的嫌犯手持半自動步槍向路人開槍，並且試圖挾持路邊車輛。警方趕到後在圖書館將他擊斃。

加州大學洛杉磯分校(UCLA)急診室主任摩根(Marshall Morgan)表示，有6名受槍傷的女子被送進急診室。警方表示，槍擊案至少造成7人死亡。

事發當時，歐巴馬正在數英里外出席募款餐會，為避免妨礙槍擊現場調查行動，歐巴馬捨棄搭機，改搭汽車返回機場。
